Joanne’s Favorite Picks
Hi, I feel excited that I can share with you some of the things that I am currently obsessed with. Read below to find out more.
Banana Leaf Plant. This stunning large leaf plant is sure to bring calm and serenity to the space it inhabits. Banana leaves have been used in cuisine since the dawn of time, it holds so many medicinal qualities and prevents a host of diseases. So a great addition to the home SEE MORE
Slatted wall paneling. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this type of wall paneling as it is multi-functional. It adds so much texture, depth, and character to a space as well as acting as a wall divider where needed. It suits virtually all decor styles as it can be left in its raw state or painted. You can purchase a ready-made one HERE
Color blocking. This is such a cheap way to add interest and character to a space. From defining your dining space within the open plan to adding a subtle color palette in the bedroom. It can be used in any room in the house and is a great way of adding color without overpowering the space.
My biggest tip that I love is actually very simple, relatively cheap but with a huge impact. That is changing the legs on your sofa to suit the new scheme within your space. So often the legs can become tired-looking and worn on sofas and really do stick out like a sore thumb when decorating the new space. So for example, if your sofa has dark walnut legs and you have recently added brass details to your living space then purchase some simple slender brass legs to suit the new scheme. SEE MORE
I am obsessed with burnt orange, especially at this time of year, and I think it can add so much character and color without being overpowering. Another benefit? It complements so many other colors too! It can be added in soft furnishings like cushions, rugs, or blankets, or by adding a feature piece like this gorgeous sofa from EZ Living SEE MORE
Given the amount of time that we spend at home, a lot of us are seeking a space that induces relaxation and grounding. Especially now, in Autumn. A simple and relaxed color palette can do this and can be introduced through paint, and soft furnishings. My favorite paint colors right now are:
Tullamore 1786 by Acres Hall
Esker Hills by Acres Hall
Feather White by Acres Hall
Charleville by Acres Hall
Mochaccino by Acres Hall
